Is this the origin of the name?

CAILLOUET is a village in the Eure départment of France, about
10 Km east of Évreux. Isolated among featureless fields it is, as
the name suggests, a pebbly place. Whatever its former importance, I found it unprepossessing. There is a church and one expensive restaurant, but there are no shops or other services. Many of the houses hide behind strong fences, with fierce guard dogs.
