Bruce
Kelloway who
lives in Newfoundland, would like information on any Kelloway known to
have migrated to Newfoundland. These would be folks mostly involved in
fishing.

James Bryant of Oxfordshire writes:
Christopher Kellaway born c1770 married
Ann Bryant
born 1773 and married in Little Bredy in 1792.
They had at least 9 children that we know
of.
Also, John Bryant born c1773 married Mary
Kellaway
born c1777 and married in Little Bredy in 1792.
They had at least 10 children that we
know of.
Christopher and Mary could either be brother/sister or cousins.
Where did they come from? Why were the two families so close?
All information gratefully received and
replied
to.

Dave Scott:-
barnstaple@kellread.plus.com
Researching the birthplace and ancestors of Matthew KELLAWAY who
married
Ann HARRIS at Lamerton, Devon, 1794. Also searching for children of the
above marriage, other than Samuel born 1795 at Lamerton who married
Jane
HAMLEY in Tavistock 1820. (I'm looking for this lot, too!)

Emma
asks about
James Kellaway, born 15 May 1824, probably in Cornwall. Having
migrated,
apparently in a freighter, he settled in Stanislaus county, California.
On 19th January 1862, at the age of 37, he was married on his ranch in
Stanislaus County, to Martha Maxwell. They had four children. James
died
in March 1907. I have visited his grave site as well as his wife and
their
three sons. It is located in Woodland, a farming community in Yolo
County,
California.

Carol
asks if anyone
is researching Lyme Regis, Dorset, and recognizes the following.
William
Callaway
was born at Lyme Regis, Dorset. His wife, Frances Marsh Adams, was born
at Walcot, Somerset. I am currently trying to find their parents.
My immigrant ancestor was their daughter, Frances Sarah, who left Lyme
Regis and settled with her family at Phoenixville (near Philadelphia),
Pennsylvania, in 1855.
